- The national flag of croatia was officially introduced on the 22.12.1990.

- The composition of the flag consists of 3 equal horizontal stripes in colors red, white, blue.

- In front of the stripes there is the National Coat of arms of Croatia centered.

- The red - white - blue tricolor is rooted in the Croatian tradition.

- The origin of the tricolor is derived from the colors of the coat of arms of the provinces of Croatia.

- The signification of the red - silver (white) checkerboard pattern is rooted in the croatian tradition and history.

- The coat of arms crown consists the most significant historical coat of arms of landscapes on the territory of Croatia (starting from the right : Illyrian coat of arms of Old - Croatia , Dubrovnik , Dalmatia, Istria and Slavonia) .
